Campaign Details |
The City of Cape Town is in the process of renaming areas within Delft.
Part of the process is that the public be afforded the opportunity to make presentation and/or submit naming proposals for the renaming of areas within Delft.
Delft was established in 1989 on a farm situated next to the Cape Town International Airport. Even though some of the suburbs in Delft are named after Dutch towns such as The Hague, Roosendal, Eindhoven, Voorbrug and Leiden, up to nine areas are still only known by a number to this day.
The naming of the nine unnamed areas in Delft will be done in two phases, with the first phase commencing on 1 June 2016. The first phase entails the naming of Areas 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.
Notice is hereby given in terms of Section 17 of the Local Government Municipal Systems Act that Council is hereby affording the public, interested parties or groups, the opportunity to submit comments, recommendations or input to the municipality.
The comment period runs from 01 June 2016 to 30 June 2016
Comment, input or recommendation can be submitted via:
• e-mail to naming@capetown.gov.za
• telephone on 021 400 1184
• written submissions to Subcouncil 5 Offices, Municipal Offices, Cnr Jakkelsvlei Avenue & Kiaat Road, Bonteheuwel, 7764
• hand delivery to your nearest library
• fax to 086 201 2971
