City advises of critical electricity upgrades in Muizenberg, Clovelly, Sun Valley and surrounds

The City advises residents in Muizenberg, Clovelly, Sun Valley and surrounding areas of an upcoming electricity supply interruption for infrastructure upgrades. It will be carried out from 22:00 on Saturday, 19 September 2026, to 08:00 on Sunday, 20 September 2026. To view the area outage map, visit: https://bit.ly/4dYUOZz. The City apologises for any inconvenience caused while the essential maintenance is being carried out.

Alternatively, the work will be carried out from 22:00 on Saturday, 26 September 2026, to 08:00 on Sunday, 27 September 2026. An alternate date is provided should the work not go ahead as planned.

·        Red Hill

·        Boulders

·        Middle Beach

·        Bellvue

·        Winford

·        Murdock Valley

·        Smitswinkel Bay

·        Cape Point

·        Noordhoek

·        Long beach

·        Ocean View

It is important to note that while the impacted areas are indicated on the map, the critical large scale electricity work may also affect surrounding areas. Please see the map where the electricity outage footprint includes street names of the impacted areas.

Please note:

The electricity supply could be restored at any time and customers must please treat all electrical installations as live for the full duration of the planned upgrade work. Residents are encouraged to switch off appliances as a precaution to avoid damage caused by power surges when the power comes back on.
