City’s Local Planning Support team visits Delft

The City is helping small-scale developers and landowners in selected areas to build affordable rental flats that are of a better quality, safer, and legally connected to services such as water, sanitation, and electricity. This week, our Local Planning Support (LPS) team is visiting Delft, and all property owners are invited to attend.

This is the ideal opportunity for property owners in Delft, Voorbrug, Leiden, Eindhoven, The Hague, Roosendal, Wesbank and Delft South to find out how they can earn an income by building safe, legal, and affordable rental flats.

‘The City’s LPS service was launched in March with the intention to help residents and stakeholders with the complicated planning processes, building plans, and to give advice. This week, they will be visiting Delft and surrounding areas. I want to urge property owners to make use of this opportunity to learn more and ask the team for advice. It is free of charge, and at your doorstep,’ said the City’s Deputy Mayor and Mayoral Committee Member for Spatial Planning and Environment, Alderman Eddie Andrews.

The Spatial Planning and Environment Directorate’s Local Planning Support service consists of a dedicated team of City officials from the Urban Planning and Design Department who are experts in planning processes, land use, design, and architecture. They provide free advice and guidance to entrepreneurs and landowners who want to build affordable rental units on their land in selected areas across Cape Town, and will be visiting communities in the coming months.
