City’s Local Planning Support team visits Westridge
23 September 2026
The City is helping small-scale developers and landowners in selected areas to navigate building affordable rental flats that are of a better quality, safer, and legally connected to services such as water, sanitation, and electricity. Next week, our Local Planning Support (LPS) team is visiting Westridge, Mitchells Plain, and all property owners are invited to attend.
This is the ideal opportunity for property owners in Rocklands, Portland, Woodlands, Harmony Village, Rodevlei Park, Highlands Village, Wildwood, Colorado Park, and Westridge to find out how they can earn an income by building safe, legal, and affordable rental flats.

‘The City’s LPS service was launched in March and since then, the officials have hosted several engagements with residents and stakeholders to help them with the complicated planning processes, building plans, and to give advice. Next, they will be visiting Westridge and surrounding areas. I encourage property owners to make use of this opportunity to learn more. The help is free of charge, and at your doorstep,’ said the City’s Deputy Mayor and Mayoral Committee Member for Spatial Planning and Environment, Alderman Eddie Andrews.
