11 August 2026

The City of Cape Town’s Urban Mobility Directorate is calling on residents, businesses and road users to comment on a proposal to introduce a time-restricted one-way system along Zinnia Road between Lower Klipfontein Road and Durant Road in Silvertown. The public participation period opens today, Tuesday, 11 August 2026, and runs until Friday, 11 September 2026.

‘The proposal for a time-restricted one-way system in Silvertown is designed to improve traffic flow, enhance safety and create a more organised road environment around Silverlea Primary School. By submitting your comments, insights or feedback in this process, you help shape a safer, more efficient neighbourhood for everyone and help us to keep Cape Town moving,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.

The proposal includes:

  • A time-restricted one-way along Zinnia Road from Lower Klipfontein Road towards Durant Road in Silvertown.
