Public Information Day postponed
The Public Information Day, scheduled to take place on 26 August 2026 at Silverlea Primary School, has been postponed due to safety concerns. The public participation period has been extended to Friday, 25 September 2026, and a new date for the Public Information Day will be communicated in due course.
The proposed introduction of a time-restricted one-way system along Zinnia Road, between Lower Klipfontein Road and Durant Road in Silvertown aims to:
- improve traffic flow,
- enhance safety, and
- create a more organised road environment around Silverlea Primary School, where there are many vulnerable road users during busy drop-off and pick-up times.
The proposal includes:
- A time-restricted one-way along Zinnia Road, from Lower Klipfontein Road towards Durant Road during busy drop-off (07:00 – 08:00) and pick-up (12:30-15:00) times from Monday to Friday.
By participating in this process, your insights and feedback can help shape a safer, more efficient road for everyone.
In terms of Section 17 of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act, Act 32 of 2000, you can submit comments to the municipality in respect of the proposed road conversion.
