Waiting times for driver's licence tests
28 September 2026
At the City, we work hard to ensure you don't have to wait long to take your driving tests and get your licence.
Sometimes we cannot prevent a backlog, often due to people not arriving to take their tests. We ask that everyone adheres to our general guidelines on testing, when applying for a licence.
See our breakdown of waiting times for driver's licences at our City of Cape Town testing centres, as at 28 September 2026.
