Comment on the proposed one-way road conversions of Strandfontein Road (service road) in Ottery

03 August 2026

3 August - 4 September 2026

About

We are proposing the introduction of a permanent one-way system along a portion of Strandfontein Road (service road), between New Ottery Road and Ottery Road in Ottery.

The one-way conversion aims to improve traffic flow between the Makro access and New Ottery Road.

The proposal includes:

Permanently converting the portion of Strandfontein Road (service road), between the Makro access and New Ottery Road into a one-way roadway (in the northbound direction) as shown in Map 1 below.

Due to the proposal, entry from New Ottery Road will be prohibited and traffic will have to re-route by two alternate routes as shown in Map 2 below.

By participating in this process, your insights and feedback can help shape a safer, more efficient road for everyone.

In terms of Section 17 of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act, Act 32 of 2000, you can submit comments to the municipality in respect of the proposed road conversion.
